Will Hoge, The Man Who Killed Love

At long last, Will Hoge releases a new studio album. Hoge has been previewing a track a week on his mySpace and PureVolume pages. “Love From a Scar”, this week’s posting, has the early lead as one of 2006′s top songs. The horns on this track will just blow you away (no pun intended).

This album is self-released as is only available at shows or via Hoge’s web site.
The Avett Brothers, Four Thieves Gone: The Robbinsville Sessions (Ramseur)

Rooted in Carolina bluegrass, the Avett’s throw a little punk, rock and folk into the mix.

Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives, Live at the Ryman (Universal South)

One of the more creative forces in music today, Stuart released two thematic albums last year, exploring gospel and Sioux Indian musical heritage. Lest anyone forget his country roots, he offers up this stellar 2003 live performance from Nashville’s legendary Ryman Auditorium.

KT Tunstall, Eye to the Telescope (Virgin)

With a voice the recalls Sarah McLachlan, but with a folk-based style all her own, KT Tunstall presents her US debut. Check out this knock-out live performance from NBC’s Today Show.
