Check out the Boss Hoss

I haven’t heard anything this funny since The Gourds remade Snoop Dogg’s “Gin and Juice”. Check out Germany’s Boss Hoss, on their web site you’ll find a few downloads with names like “Hey Ya”, “Hot in Herre”, “Toxic” and “Without Me”. Thanks to Ray Randall for finding this gem.

A definite pick-me-up. Also, I’m not sure if you knew or not, but Ashton Allen’s new album has been out for awhile now and the few songs I’ve heard have been good. Very Elliot Smith. At any rate, worth checking out if you haven’t yet.

I heard a couple of clips of Ashton’s on his Myspace page before the album was released. Its hard not to compare his new sound to Elliott Smith or even Nick Drake. Great to see one of the ex-Big Sky fellas getting some extended notice.

Boss Hoss are just copycats. The Band who started the “countryfication” in Germany is called “The Twang”. Check out their MySpace-Site: http://www.myspace.com/countryfication oder their homepage: http://www.twang.de
