Win Big: Jim Boggia

Thursday, September 25, 2008 By Mayer Danzig

I’ve always had mixed feelings about music in commercials. For many of us, songs often become connected with certain personal feelings and experience in our lives and it is a bit jarring when a commercial suddenly associates it with something totally different.

On the other hand, commercials can be a lucrative source of income and introduce an artist to new audiences, especially for up-and-coming or independent artists. Perhaps that’s why I was excited to hear Jim Boggia’s “Live the Proof” in a recent Blackberry commercial. The song’s high energy is the perfect soundtrack to a super-charged connected life.

album coverBut I digress. Boggia was kind enough to offer a lucky Twangville resident a signed vinyl copy of Misadventures in Stereo, his latest release. To be eligible, add a comment to this post with your favorite song used in a commercial. A winner will be selected at random when the contest ends on Friday, 10/3/08 at midnight ET.**

Here is the aforementioned Blackberry commercial plus a few choice extras from Boggia. Read more about Misadventures in Stereo here.

**By participating in Twangville contests you agree to allow Twangville to post the winner’s name and city on our web site. We pass along the winning addresses to the artist or promotions company for fulfillment. Twangville will not use your address for any other reason except as noted above.
