Life on the road is hard. As the glass of water metaphor describes, though, optimists and pessimists see that challenge differently. You can put Ted Russell Kamp firmly in the former. Between his own performances and as a long-time member of Shooter Jennings’ band, Kamp gets double the opportunity to travel. On his latest record, Walkin’ Shoes, he opens with an ode to seeing the bright side of it called Home Away From Home.
The song itself, as you’ll see, is a honky-tonk kind of number with Ted’s bass laying down a walking-down-the-road tempo that just sort of dares you to try to sit quietly in your chair. We’re pleased as all get-out to be premiering the video on Twangville. Get up and enjoy Home Away From Home.
