Do Denver, maybe come out and open for Big Smith? I miss Steve Bob Rich and Pat. They were like a musical version of a Thomas Hart Benton painting.

Walkenhorst is amazing. Why he refuses to play a gig anywhere on the East Coast is baffling. We love him here. Not everybody can just get up and fly to Kansas City in the middle of the week. But if he worked his way down the East Coast doing shows from Boston to Washington, it would be incredible and certainly well received. Here's hoping!

Great post. Always good to see Bob get a nod on the web.

Kelly: the recordings are all done by Jay in KC (see the credit above) and posted (with permission) to the Live Music Archive at Archive.org. Thera are now Bob shows available there for free download in multiple formats. To explore, use "browse by year" (not "...by date") at: http://www.archive.org/details/BobWalkenhorst .

Great post, Mayer. I genuinely hate that I have missed that all this time. I had a buddy living in KC for a while and never took advantage! Great audio also, is that with your own recorder, or was that through the board?
