So far the kings of alt-country have spoken. We've seen strong releases from Wilco, Son Volt and this week Ryan Adams. But I'm beginning to think that 2007 may belong to the ladies after impressive releases from Patty Griffin, Lucinda Williams, Sarah Borges, Gina Villalobos, Elizabeth Cook and now this week's new release from Kelly Willis. When she's not doing pharmaceutical ads she's cranking out rockin' country tunes on her own or with hubby Bruce Robison. Translated From Love looks to be another solid release from Willis.
