Tom Petty & More, Album Previews

Highway CompanionI’ll have my eyes and ears focused on at least two new releases this week. The first is Tom Petty’s Highway Companion his third solo album in a long career. Not much can be said about Petty that you probably don’t already know, though I was unaware that this is only his third solo effort. He’s been playing with the Heartbreakers for thirty years. Wow!

The second is Will Kimbrough’s latest Americanitis. If you’ve never heard of Kimbrough, you need to check him out. He’s been linked to Twangville favs Jimmy Buffett, Rodney Crowell, Todd Snider, Adrienne Young, Josh Rouse and several others. Mayer gave me a his album, This, several years ago and I’ve been a big fan ever since. I haven’t been able to find an album stream but he’s got several new songs posted on his MySpace profile. Also, you can listen to “Everyone’s in Love” on our MySpace profile this week.
