Ready to get your jam on? Although they’ve only formally been a band a few years, The Texas Gentlemen have already proven themselves to be musicians of the highest order. Just ask folks like Leon Bridges, Nikki Lane, Paul Cauthen and Kris Kristofferson. They are just a few of the artists who have enlisted the Gentlemen on stage or in the studio. As one who has seen them back a number of artists, not to mention play some of their own stuff, I can attest – these guys have game.
The group is gearing up to release their debut album on 15 September. Called TX Jelly, it was recorded over a 96 hour span at legendary FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, AL.
Here are a couple of videos that show what the group does when they are not in the studio or on the stage. In this case they’re on a tour bus doing what they do so well, in this case covering Little Feat’s “Willin” and the Rolling Stones’ “Dead Flowers.”
As a bonus, I’ve thrown in their 1970’s style jam on the new original “Habbie Doobie.” Rock on fellas.
