Neil Young Released & More, Tom’s Take

From the small amount of music I’ve been able to preview this week it seems to have been a bit lackluster. The charts look to be saying the Kieran Kane, Keven Welch & Fats Kaplin album is something to behold. Unfortunately, I have yet to hear it. Paul Simon is on a different path with Surprise. Its truly great to see him making more albums but this one wasn’t for me. Luckily, the week is not completely blah due to Neil Young’s Living With War. Whether you agree or don’t agree with Young, you just have to give him credit for having the cajones to make an entire album protesting the war and current administration. Blatent protest albums almost always make me feel uneasy, but on a purely musical level I actually prefer Living With War over Grammy nominated Prarie Wind. This album isn’t for everyone, but it is a good solid effort none-the-less.
