Monday Morning Video: 2012 Americana Music Conference Highlights

As we wrap up our 2012 AMA coverage, here is a playlist highlighting some of the official showcases. We kick things off with a special treat — Richard Thompson telling an amusing story about Robert Plant. We move quickly into the tunes with Hayes Carll, Jason Isbell and Patterson Hood paying tribute to Levon Helm with a raucous take on “The Weight.”

We then have a pair from the SiriusXM studios. Jason Isbell performing “Alabama Pines” followed by Robert Ellis and Caitlin Rose covering Nick Lowe’s “All Men Are Liars.”

We return to Thompson and an amazing solo acoustic take on “Wall of Death.” Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Wanda Jackson performs “Tore Down” during her special lunchtime show. Buddy Miller and Lee Ann Womack take on the George Jones and Tammy Wynette classic “Golden Ring.”

Paul Thorn picks up an acoustic guitar and forgoes a microphone for “You Might Be Wrong.” Things wrap up with the World Famous Headliners — Big Al Anderson, Shawn Camp, Pat McLaughlin, Michael Rhodes and Greg Morrow — on the burning “Can I.”
